PIPE INSULATION CASTING
The aluminum pipe insulation casting method is ideal for the production of parts that require precise production (in small and medium series), with greater resistance and customization capacity.
For the production of this gravity casting technique, steel molds called «pipe insulation» are used, which are highly durable, fast, and repeatable.
The result is highly resistant pieces with different finishes including machining, technical or surface coatings.
ADVANTAGES OF PIPE INSULATION CASTING
Thanks to this type of aluminum casting process, Fundiciones Ur Artea/Ur Artea Foundries can offer a range of weights. Furthermore, makes serial production possible even when the customer does not require large quantities.
An added advantage of using mold casting is that the molds can be preserved and used to place new manufacturing orders, thus speeding up the process considerably.
WEIGHT RANGES
- From 100 grams to 50 kg in pipe insulation
- From 50 kg to 1,000 kg in sand
SERIES OF PIECES
- From 200 to 2,000 pieces

SERVICES AND FINISHES
At Fundaciones Ur Artea/Ur Artea Foundries, we perform any type of finishing that meets the most rigorous quality controls. We offer comprehensive solutions tailored to the needs of each of our clients. Once the casting phase is complete, we provide services such as deburring, sanding, shot blasting, machining, vibratory finishing, polishing, painting, and surface treatments.
- Deburring: Once the piece has cooled, we remove the burrs using saws and/or grinders.
- Shot blasting: At Fundiciones Ur Artea/Ur Artea Foundries we give the utmost importance to this task which consists of homogenizing the internal structure of the piece and eliminating stresses from it.
- Machining: We perform all the necessary tasks – turning, milling and drilling – to adapt the part to the assemblies and uses for which it has been manufactured
- Paint: Powder (epoxy) or liquid coating depending on the customer’s requirements.
- Surface treatments such as paint and epoxy.
We also assemble the parts and manage stocks – both of finished products and of dies and tooling for our customers – thanks to our more than 2,000 square meters of warehouse space
